Nevada Smith’s has been a hidden gem of the Old Pueblo since 1981. Darryl Smith, originally from Butte Montana, maintains his business motto of giving his customers a quality meal for an affordable price. His business is also unique in the way of a family style dining setting where you are sure to get to know the staff as well as your fellow dining patrons. Nevada Smith’s offers a fine dining meal in a home style setting. Every item on the menu is cooked to order and just the way you like it. You can even sit and watch your steak being prepared on the large, open fire pit grill on the back covered patio.
The staff is handpicked by Darryl himself, as well as the customers. Having a good first interview and a resume to back up experience is not the end of the extensive process to find the right staff. Each employee also does an hour “audition” with the customers to make sure the right fit is in place. The employee turnover is very low and you are sure to see your favorite chef, bartender, or server, as well as Darryl himself on the nights you attend.
The nightlife after dinner has much to offer with karaoke on Friday through Sunday nights and drink specials every night of the week. The staff prides itself on being welcoming and accommodating to make you feel like family.
