I moved to Tucson in 1985 to attend the University of Arizona, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I fell in love with Tucson and the Sonoran desert and never left. I am an avid night sky photographer, taking pictures of the Milky Way galaxy and star trails. I also take pictures of astronomical events like eclipses and meteor showers. I have always been interested in photography, starting out in 35mm film and then converting to digital. My major in college was radio/television with a minor in art.
Tucson Happenings is devoted to our local artists and have been publishing monthly artist profiles for years. This page will list many artists that have profiled since we went digital in May of 2015.

Origami containers are fun to make and use, and this particular basket is one of my favorites! I often use it to hold a small gift to accompany a "Get-Well" card or a "Thinking of You" greeting. Also, it is great to fill with origami flowers to celebrate Springtime. And of course, it makes a great little treat basket for the Easter Holidays, filled with your favorite chocolate treats!

But I couldn’t get to sleep. Because all I could think about was those amazing shoes. I’ve always had a weakness for plastic shoes. That might be blamed on identifying with Cinderella, but I think it was because my Mom had saved several pairs of plastic shoes from her youth, and they were mine to play with. One pair of sandals had clear heels that could be filled with ANYTHING. When my mother had gotten the shoes, the thing to do was put live goldfish in water inside. She did, and in the course of an evening traipsing around Manhattan, the poor things died in service to fashion.
