Artist Bonnie Pisik
As a professional artist, specializing in the unique art form of Reverse-Painting on Glass, in just 18 short months Bonnie Pisik has truly become a creative force in Tucson (as she was previously in Chicago, New York, and Dallas).
“I believe my work should capture the beauty and movement within nature. My latest collection has been created by utilizing the technique of reverse painting under acrylic glass. By meticulously applying over thirty layers of bold, iridescent colors under glass, my artwork takes on a multidimensional, shimmering and reflective aura. People have always been mesmerized by the depth and complexity of my paintings and their first impulse is to always touch the glass. I feel so fortunate and am honored that my paintings have been purchased by, and are now seen in galleries, restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, homes and corporate offices around the country and that my work has been privately collected both in the United States and in Europe.”
After making the move to Tucson in 2014, Pisik decided to expand her artistic endeavors and developed a workshop that teaches this highly original and unusual art form. Back in August of 2014 she presented the concept to several exclusive resorts and country clubs and the “Inspiration Under Glass” workshop was born. Since then, Pisik’s workshop is featured weekly at Miraval Resort & Spa and monthly at La Paloma Country Club, The Lodge at Ventana Canyon and at Skyline Country Club. She has taught over 1000 people in over 150 workshops - introducing them to the joy, fun and excitement of painting. “There is something so cathartic and stimulating about painting in this medium and nothing gives me more pleasure than watching my students experience that “ah hah” moment when they see their painting come to life. I love hearing them say, “I can’t believe I painted this!”
The “Inspiration Under Glass” workshops have become “sell-out” events. In fact, more than 40% of my clients have taken the workshop repeatedly. Offered at local resorts, country clubs and as private parties in the home or office, Pisik has specifically designed the 2-hour workshop to be fun, creative and inspirational. “It doesn’t matter if you’ve had years of training as an artist or are a complete novice, you will be truly amazed at what you create”.
