As a kid, I was fascinated by making things with my hands. And I love color! My favorite color is most any shade of green. But I’m drawn to red in all its varied personalities, as well! Noticing and appreciating color and pattern is a big part of my every day. I’m inspired by everything around me. I grew up in Kansas. Plants, animals and expansive vistas were a big influence. I now have a great fondness for the subtle beauty of the desert, as well. Desert flora and fauna have made many appearances in my creations ever since my husband and I moved from Kansas City to Tucson 14 years ago.
Tucson Happenings is devoted to our local artists and have been publishing monthly artist profiles for years. This page will list many artists that have profiled since we went digital in May of 2015.

There are several versions of the Jumping Frog in origami. This particular model is my favorite frog because it can jump so high! And it is FUN to decorate! The word 'frog' (‘kaeru’) in Japanese means 'return', which is why the frog is considered a lucky animal in Japan, and seen as good fortune to have things returned. It is a common tradition to carry a small frog figurine in the bottom of ones coin purse or wallet to insure that even when money is spent, it will come back to you. This origami frog is easy to tuck into your wallet for good luck!

If you’re a lush and curvy gal, your local shopping choices are limited. There’s Torrid at the malls, of course, along with Lane Bryant. Many of our department stores have eliminated their Plus Size departments in favor of integrating the larger sizes onto the same racks with everything else -- they have done the same with Petite sizes. You can tell because you can watch both groups of women muttering as they wade through the ocean of clothing, hunting for their sizes.
My suggestion is stay home and use your computer. The Plus size world has expanded tremendously in the past few years, and the on-line retailers specializing in your size range have everything you could want. Many offer free shipping, which includes free returns.

Territorial Marshal, Brett Masters, is determined to keep the peace, but will he be able to stop a "Showdown in Tucson?"
